Here's our Chia, the day of the competition. I didn't do anything fancy, as you'll see that other groups did. I see that our Chia has developed a bald spot on his forehead, just like his Dad...
At the competition. Here's how another group compensated for not even trying.
Here's a sure loser.
Cary, judging at the competition. Our Chia is the one in the foreground, right of the pink one.
This is the one that won.
I've seen other groups' Chias that have longer sprouts, but ours is a lot greener and more full. I think ours is the best one.
Since it occurs to me that you can't really tell how well the Chia is growing with the greenhouse bag on, from now on, I will take it off when taking the daily picture.
As you can see, in an attempt to speed up the Chia growth, we have now implemented a greenhouse-like environment for the Chia.
And now I am told that the bingo letter for today is "free spot". This doesn't make any sense to me...you are supposed to just get the free spot. Now I am thinking that they must just have a specific card in mind, which is not how Bingo is supposed to work. Keep this between us, but I think the fix is in.
Update: I am told that due to complaints about the "free spot", today's bingo number has been changed to "N-5".
Update: I am told that since "N-5" is not a real bingo spot, they actually meant "B-5".
Update: I am told that since "B-5" was actually yesterday's number, today's number is actually "N-45". This time for sure!
It was suggested to me to bring the Chia closer to the fluorescent light, so we put a box under it. We'll see if that helps. Some group has a Chia (by my brother's cube) that's doing way better than ours; I suspect that they're cheating somehow.
The Chia appears to have survived the long weekend with no one to replenish the water supply. It seems healthy so far—nice and green and good-looking. As opposed to purple, which would look terrible.
No.
